About Me

I have been a Clinical Scientist for nearly 20 years in the South East of England. Understanding the world and the mysteries of nature have always intrigued me as a child and that interest and passion has stayed with me in my endeavors as a Scientist and an Artist. I started my journey of painting 10 years ago in London. Self-taught with the inclusion of evening classes, mixed in the balance of research studies and family life. Over time I began to develop my tastes and style in painting.

Painting and drawing have always brought balance to my perception of the world. Taking the time to stand still, pay attention and observe the details of nature and its beauty is very humbling and fulfilling for me. I enjoy working with the versatility of acrylic paint, but I also enjoy the effects that can be achieved with watercolour paints. My main interest is the painting of animals, particularly portraits. I love to capture the essence, character, and soul of an animal. Over the years I have grown and developed to transition from Scientist to an Artist. I will always have an inquisitive and questioning mind, wanting to learn and grow but to express it all in a very different way.
